Cowpea, Blackeyed #5
Item # 6087 Vigna unguiculata
Zesty tasting!
Good producers even though they are thought of as a southern dish. Especially good when cooked green -- dry them and cook as beans in winter. Fast-cooking, big yielder and easy to grow. 60 days.
Planting guide: For best results, sow as early as possible in the spring. Plant in double rows 3 inches apart. Double rows should be 2 1/2 feet apart. Drop seed about every 1 1/2 inches in the rows and cover with 1 to 2 inches of soil.
