Corn, Illinichief Packet
Item # 6112 Zea mays var. rugosa
Actually twice as sweet as any other hybrid corn and the sweetness holds for several days after picking. Large 8 inch ears have 14 to 18 rows of rich, golden yellow kernels. Excellent for freezing and canning. For those who may find it too sweet we suggest blending it with another variety for cream-style serving or freezing -- it's wonderful! Mature in 85 days.
Planting guide: Plant in rows 2 1/2 to 3 feet apart. Drop seed every 5 to 6 inches and cover with 1 inch of soil. Plants should be thinned, leaving one stalk every 12 inches.
