Cherries
Ornamental, showy blossoms and nutritious, delicious fruits make cherry trees a favorite among home gardeners. Cherry trees may produce sweet cherries or tart cherries (sometimes called pie cherries or sour cherries). Like other fruit trees, cherry trees grow best in full sun (six or more hours of direct sunlight daily). When selecting cherry trees to plant in your garden or landscape, make sure the variety you choose is suitable for your hardiness zone. Next, consider its mature height and spread. If you have limited space, a dwarf cherry tree may be a better choice than a standard fruit tree. Finally, keep in mind that some cherry trees are self-pollinating while other cherry trees need another cherry tree for pollination.
