Lilies
A favorite in the garden and cut-flower bouquets, lilies are easy to grow and easy to love. Gardeners can choose from different types of lilies, including border lilies, Oriental lilies and Asiatic lilies. Border lilies grow just 14-18" tall and are ideal for front borders and lining walkways. Oriental and Asiatic lilies can grow 3-4' tall. Planting a variety of lilies can extend the lily season from early to late summer. Lily bulbs can be planted in the spring or fall. These sun-loving perennials grow best when planted in well-drained soil and in full sun to partial shade. Lilies look best when they are planted in groups or masses.
