Ornamental Grasses
Ornamental grasses add color, movement and winter interest to gardens. These perennials continue to grow in popularity every year. Ornamental grasses can be used as accent plants, grown in masses, used for erosion control, grown as ground covers and more. The plumes of some grasses are also used for cut-flower displays. When selecting ornamental grasses to grow in the garden, make sure the variety you choose is suitable for your hardiness zone. Also, check what sunlight conditions they prefer. Many ornamental grasses are sun lovers, but others can grow in partial to full shade. Other considerations are foliage color, mature height and spread, and bloom time (if applicable).
