Hedges
Growing a living hedge creates a sense of seclusion in your yard—and it's more economical than building a metal or wood fence. It's also an environmentally friendly solution too. In addition to adding to curb appeal, hedges can provide privacy screening, offer shade and reduce noises. Many shrubs, including evergreen shrubs and flowering shrubs, make excellent hedge rows. Usually shrubs like arborvitae create a more formal look while lilacs are excellent for informal hedging. When selecting shrubs for hedges, make sure they are suitable for your grow zone. Other factors to consider are the length of your hedge row, the shrub's mature height and spread, pruning and maintenance needs, sunlight and soil requirements.
