The Red Clematis has masses of magnificent red, 4-6'' blooms that will stand out against the deep green foliage to make this one of the showiest Clematis. Petals have a rich, velvety sheen. The Red Clematis blooms from June until September. Plant these bright, flowering vines 3-4' apart.Mulch base of plant if planted in sunny area. Cut back to 2' in spring. These are strong number one plants, grown on their own roots and shipped dormant for superior results. The flowers bloom on old vines. Mature height is 10-20 feet. Botanical name 'Ernest Markham'.
